The Crisis of Credit Visualized

I’ve seen quite a few articles, photos, and charts recently that have helped me to better understand the current financial crisis — but none better than this one.

Here are a few other interesting & informational links:

The “Four Bad Bears” graph (more charts like this found on this site).

Time’s “25 People to Blame for the Financial Crisis

This picture of an armed sheriff moving through an American home after an eviction due to a mortgage foreclosure won the top prize in the World Press Photo competition.

Calvin, from Calvin and Hobbes, nails Wall Street’s mentality.

The “Two Cows” version of the credit crisis.  This is pretty good, but after “You call the Federal Reserve and ask for a bailout.” it needs one more line that says “You call the Federal Reserve and ask for a bailout. From the article: “No doubt there will be an initial backlash, but I’m hoping that folks will appreciate the increased transparency and realize once and for all how devastating the deception out of the Bush administration really was.”

And lastly, from Recovery.gov: “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will be carried out with full transparency and accountability — and Recovery.gov is the centerpiece of that effort. In a short video, President Obama describes the site and talks about how you’ll be able to track the Recovery Act’s progress every step of the way.”
